4 Weeks Old!!

Four Weeks Old!!!
My little boy is now 4 weeks old! We went to the Doctor's again today for a weight check and to schedule a sleep study! Baden now weighs 9 lbs!!!! Wait I want this one to stay little why am I so happy? Okay I am happy that he is growing but what am I going to do when he is 5 years old and heads out the door to Kindergarten?

They (I am not sure who that is) are going to call us and set up a sleep study. They will take off his oxygen and put him on another monitor for the night and see how his levels are with out the oxygen. If he can keep them up in the 90% then they will take him off! YEAH!!! If not we will stay on :( For now they have turned the oxygen down to 1/32 of a liter. So all in all it was a good visit!

Oh wait now I is when I tell you that Olivia saw the doctor today as well. She had and x-ray done on her knee about 2 weeks ago. We noticed that her knee looked funny and swollen. Well the x-ray came back normal but the Doctor said that there is fluid on the knee. So we have been watching it for the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I noticed that she has started to limp. She also favors that knee alot more so today we scheduled an MRI for Sept 2nd. Since she is so little and young they will have to sedate her in order to do the MRI. I just hope that they find out what is wrong with her knee.

I have a Doctors appointment on the 8th. Glen has 2 Doctors appointments on the 10th and both of us are looking to set up surgery dates at these appointments. Did I mention that we have hit the max on our insurance? I told CJ that if he was going to break an arm or leg or ANYTHING else he should plan to do it before Dec 31st so we don't have to pay for it. Oh the joys of 1/2 a dozen kids!

2 weeks!!!! (plus a few days)

Baden came home on Tuesday!!!!!! We were all excited to have Baden leave UVRMC after 12 days of Doctors and Nurses to watch over him! He came home on just 1/16 of a liter of oxygen, and a monitor which will tell us if he stops breathing or if his heart stops or goes to fast.

.
Waiting for the Dr to let us go!!

Cj and Anthony get to Hold him!

Kayla and Olivia get a turn!

We went to Doctors on Friday for his 2 week visit. Everything looked really good. His starting weight on their scale is 7lbs 3oz. And he was 20 inches long (yep I know he shrunk) He has another Doctors appointment on Wednesday! The Doctor said that he would be on oxygen until he is a month old and then we are going to do a sleep study to see if he can come off of that!

First Doctor's appointment!!!

We have ventured out a few times and let me tell you it is a lot harder and more time consuming to get him ready to go. You have to make sure the monitor is ready to go and then you have to switch his oxygen from him home tank to the travel tank and then get him in the car seat and everything else. The monitor and the oxygen tank weigh more then he does.

We are hoping to bless him the first week in September. It will all depend on if he can come off the oxygen. I really want to get some pictures of him done but I am waiting for the oxygen to come off, But I am thinking maybe I shouldn't the oxygen is part of who he is and why he is here so early, so who knows what we will do. But for now here are some pictures off the home camera! (if I can get it to work)

BADEN ISAIAH MATTHEW PRATT

Coming into this world 5 weeks early and weighing 6 lbs 9 oz we introduce to you our newest Son Baden Isaiah Matthew Pratt. Baden made his grand entrance on July 30th 2009. Being so early his lungs were not quite ready. So they took him to the Nursery to put him on a C-pap machine. Well about 11 hours after being born he had improved a little bit but was not ready to breathe on his own. So the Doctors decided that he needed more help so they transported him to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. To do this they had to put him on a ventilator. So at 3:34 am they took him by ambulance.

He has now come off the ventilator and is back on the c-pap machine. He had developed pneumonia. He is on antibiotics and has about 4 more days of that. I went to see him this morning and he is doing better. He is almost off the c-pap machine. They hope to let him try to breathe by himself starting maybe tonight but most likely tomorrow. I can't wait until he is off because I will get to hold him. I have read blogs about babies and how their mom's didn't get to hold them until they were days even weeks old. I knew it must be hard for them. Well being in their shoes I understand just how hard it is.
I will end this with a few pictures of our sweet baby boy!!!!!

BABY SOONER THAN LATER!!

Well I went in for my regular visit on Wednesday and my blood pressure was too high. They sent me over to Utah Valley Hospital for a non-stress test and a visit with a specialist. After the test my blood pressure was going down but the baby is already 6 lbs 10 oz. (I have only put on 8lbs with this one so it is all baby) He is running out of room. So here is what the outcome was.......

I had to have blood drawn and a few other tests done in the lab. We are waiting for those results. The specialist has scheduled me for non-stress tests twice a week, in addition to my regular visit. There are three things that they are looking for 1) if baby is in stress 2) if my headaches continue and if I get blurry vision 3) Dr's opinion. If any of these are not good they will do an amniocentesis if the baby's lungs are strong enough they will take the baby the day after the test has been done.

But since I am a c-section delivery anyway the specialist just went a head and scheduled the amnIo for the 10th of Aug which means if the baby is ready they will take him on the 11th. (3 weeks early)

Sounds good to be done with this pregnancy but then there are somethings that I am not ready for. 1st) I still don't have a crib for this baby and I haven't cleaned my bedroom for a place to put the crib, 2nd) The kids were supposed to be in school when I had the baby so that it would help on finding sitters so that Glen could spend time with me in the hospital. 3rd) The kids school is scheduling assessments for the kids... Anthony's is scheduled for the day of the amino. Cj's is two days later which means I will be in the hospital. 4th) Last April I paid $150.00 to go to a Scentsy Convention in Salt Lake. Yep it startes the 12th again I will be in the hospital. So hopefully my director can find someone who can take my place and I might get my money back.... but I am going to miss out on a bunch of free stuff from Scentsy and a BUNCH of ideas for the whole Scentsy show and stuff. The least of my worries is work. I wasn't planning on leaving before the 24th and now they are going to be short. I really think that they can handel it but in some ways I feel like they are mad at me for leaving them early.

Good News is that we are almost done. I can't wait to hold my little boy in my arms. It has been almost 8 years since I have had my own baby BOY! Don't get me wrong I LOVE my girls but there is always something between mom and her BABY BOY! I am sad that this is going to be our last one but I really think that 6 is pleanty for Glen and I to handel. I want them all to know how much I love them and I want to be able to give them the attention that they need so 6 is enough. #3 BOYS #3 Girls = Perfect!

I hope to keep this updated and maybe get pictures of the new baby when he gets here whenever that is!

Lost Belly Button

Dear Sweet Kayla..... who is 3 almost 4! We went swimming with some friends on the 4th of July. When we returned home all the kids changed out of their swim suits, she didn't want to. So since it was a Holiday I didn't push the issue! Later that night we were making dinner and Kayla came up to me and had a worried look on her face. This was our conversations

K:Mom I lost my Belly button?

M:Kayla no you just forgot to take off you swim suit so you can't find it.

K: No mom it fell off!

M: (moving the swim suit so she can see her belly button) No Kayla see it's still there.

K: What is this then mom (she is pinching part of her swim suit and something is inside it)

M: (Reaching insdie her suit only to pull out....) Kayla this is a Rice Krispy, did you get into the Cereal without asking?

K: Yep!

Don't worry. The Belly Button was still attached!!!

A Weekend In Park City

Yeah for good husbands!!! I got off at 2:00pm and Glen surprised me with a Limo Ride up to Park City! We Stayed at the Marrott hotel in a Balcony Suite. Glen is and elite member there and they got us a great deal on the Suite. We told the front desk that it was our 10th Anniversary. While we were out they left us chocolate covered strawberries and a hand written note telling us Happy Anniversary and Thanks for staying with them. We did some shopping and then the Best dinner ever. We went the Ruth Cris's Steakhouse and the staff there was amazing as well. They even upgraded our dinner dessert and we each had a regular dessert free of charge. Then we went back to the hotel because it was raining. In the morning the weather was perfect so we ran over to the Alpine Slide and Alpine Roller Coaster. Then we headed home to the 5 kids and swimming at the American Fork Pool! THANK YOU to ALL who were willing to take ALL 5 KIDS while we were gone.
